BLUE & GREEN LAGOON

FISHERY RULES

  • You must have a current valid EA fishing licence
  • Access is only permitted to the designated areas; please do not climb gates, fences or trespass on surrounding property.
  • Fish only from the dedicated swims; No fishing permitted between swims
  • All fish must be returned to the water immediately, use of a floating recovery sling is permitted for short periods, do not use keepnets, standard slings or sacks for retaining carp of any size.
  • Anyone found killing fish and/or removing fish will be prosecuted
  • When returning fish to the water, you must use a sling or zipped unhooking mat
  • Use only barbed hooks
  • Braided main lines are permitted (*Amended Aug 2020)
  • Rods are not to be left unattended at any time or for any reason, although a “up one down one” swim social rule applies.
  • You must be in possession of an unhooking mat for all forms of fishing.
  • Carp care kit or an equivalent must be in your possession.
  • All fish being photographed must be held over an unhooking mat at all times -photographs should be taken kneeling down under no circumstances should you hold fish standing up
  • Fish must be weighed using a sling or zipped unhooking mat.
  • Strictly no litter policy. Take all litter home.
  • Do not cut or otherwise damage any flora / fauna
  • Do not disturb wildlife please advise a member of staff as soon as possible should any wildlife become hurt or injured, hooked or entangled with line, or if line becomes snagged on trees or bushes or on any underwater snag during your visit in order that this can be immediately remedied
  • Do not light any fires and do not burn the grass when using any form of cooking equipment
  • The use of disposable BBQ's is strictly prohibited
  • Alcohol is not to be brought onto the fishery (Local bylaw on the Blue)
  • Catches of ALL carp to be reported.

                     All fish to be weighed and photographed both sides for the stock report survey. Catches can be submitted by email, text MMS or by uploading to the Blue Lagoon Facebook page. Reports of captures for any mag/company publicity must have prior permission for distribution.

  • No tents permitted, only use of dedicated angling bivvy, shelter, brollies permitted.
  • Fresh/Frozen boilies only.
  • No peanuts of any type whatsoever permitted
  • Tiger nuts permitted as a hook bait only. No chops allowed whatsoever.
  • Bait boats permitted. (Sensible use) (Except boating periods on Blue, set out below) Use of any other type of boat is not permitted. Wading in margins is permitted.
  • Membership card to be produced upon request by a bailiff. Failure to provide a valid membership card will result in the bailiff requesting you to leave. All bailiffs carry a photo ID card.
  • We operate a card system; breaking rules could resort in a yellow or red card as set out at the open day.

All sessions are to be messaged in, so as to be added to bailiff list. (Messenger, text or whatsapp)

Memberships are non-refundable or transferable

 

SPECIFIC TO THE BLUE LAGOON

 

 Float fishing not permitted during the following days/times:

Sunday 9:30am to 2.30pm.

Wednesday evening (6:00pm to 8:00pm approx.)

 

During these times “ledger style” fishing (lines well below water surface) is the only style of fishing permitted as a courtesy to those boating. NHEBSC will direct its members to take all reasonable precautions to (but cannot guarantee) to avoid disturbing fishermen and their equipment during any such periods

  • On certain days, including Saturday mornings and afternoons April to September inclusive, NHEBSC members will occasionally be sailing on the Blue Lagoon, but not as part of the formal published programme (Sundays & Wednesdays as set out above). NHEBSC will direct its members to take all reasonable precautions to (but cannot guarantee) to avoid disturbing fishermen and their equipment during any such periods. Anglers should give full consideration to boat club members whilst Sunday boat racing (10am-2pm) & Wednesday evening (6pm – 8pm)

Divers times are Sunday mornings 8am – 10am and Monday evenings 6pm – 8pm. Please avoid swim 1 during those times.

  • All members are requested to show the courtesy and respect to all other water users as expected bequest on them, avoid any disputes and report any concerns immediately to an onsite bailiff or call Jay on: 07775 613235
